Every year the druids of Moonglade hold a celebration of their city’s great triumph over an ancient evil. During the Lunar Festival, citizens of Azeroth have the opportunity to honor their elders by celebrating their sage wisdom, sharing in magnificent feasts…and of course, lighting fireworks.
The celebration has begun in Moonglade and your Lunar Festival Invitation is waiting. Join in the fun by dressing up in your Lunar Festival finery, launching fireworks, and paying homage to the Elders throughout Azeroth.
    When: February 17 – March 3
Where: Moonglade with camps in Ironforge, Stormwind, Darnassus, Thunder Bluff, Orgrimmar, Undercity
    Currency: Coin of Ancestry
The Lunar Festival is a time of celebration for the peoples of Azeroth. At the beginning of each year, elders of generations past manifest around the world to impart their wisdom upon all who listen. Should you encounter these venerable spirits in your travels and take the time to heed their wisdom, they may even pass along tokens of their gratitude — Coins of Ancestry, the lessons of a past age in physical form. Gather enough Coins of Ancestry and the Cenarion Circle will open their stores of celebratory garb, fireworks, trinkets, and recipes!
The Cenarion Circle has good cause to celebrate, for the Lunar Festival marks the return of many Ancients that fell in battles past: Goldrinn, Malorne, Aviana, and Cenarius himself. But this celebration is darkened by the eternal torment of one of their own — Omen, a wolf Ancient blessed by the moon goddess Elune, has risen from the depths of Moonglade’s lake. Though Omen was once as noble and proud as any Ancient, he was driven mad by the Burning Legion’s tainted magics during the War of the Ancients. Omen’s immortality means that he is forever cursed to return in his maddened state at the advent of each new year - and this year, he has grown further in power, a challenge for even heroes of level 90. Heroes must make haste to ease this tormented Ancient’s suffering, in the hopes that perhaps next year he will return with a clearer mind.
The great wolf Omen was once a hero of this world. An embodiment of strength and fortune, Omen fought beside the heroes of the War of the Ancients until he succumbed to demonic magics. Turning against his allies, he raged across Azeroth, leaving death and terror in his wake. Omen was finally defeated in Moonglade, and he now sleeps among the silt of Lake Elune'ara. But each year, at the beginning of the festival, he stirs...
The celebration begins with an introductory quest, The Lunar Festival. The Cenarion Circle has invited all denizens of Azeroth to take part in the celebration of the Lunar Festival. You can learn more about the event by meeting with the Lunar Festival Harbinger.
It wouldn’t be a celebration without fireworks. You’ll be asked to buy some Lunar Fireworks and Cluster Fireworks to launch and complete the quest, Lunar Fireworks.
Once you’ve proven your firework prowess, you’ll receive your Lunar Festival Invitation to travel to Moonglade and speak with Valadar Starsong in Nighthaven. With your invitation at hand, you’ll be able to travel quickly to Moonglade by using the greater moonlight throughout the holiday.
The Lunar Festival currently has 16 achievements and 1 meta-achievement.
Elune’s Blessing: Complete the Elune’s Blessing quest by defeating Omen.
Frenzied Firecracker: Shoot off 10 Festival Firecrackers in 30 seconds or less.

    Love is in the Air

This year, Love is in the Air will run from February 2nd through the 16th. This event was based around Valentine’s Day, giving players a chance to give and receive gifts throughout Azeroth.

When we changed Holiday dungeons to scale based on a player’s level, we aimed to increase participation in those dungeons. We also wanted to avoid a situation where a player with an army of low-level characters had a better chance at receiving account-wide rewards than a player with one or two max-level characters. At the same time, we didn't want to impact the amount of chances that players who maintain several max-level characters had in previous years.

As a compromise, we made account-wide rewards a random drop for any character capable of participating in current-expansion content. For the remainder of Legion, players level 98 and above fit that criteria. The minimum level requirement will increase again in Battle for Azeroth, and will continue to increase in future expansions.
    New in 2018
Heirloom upgrades added to the event vendor. Event specific cosmetic items can be transmogged. Neck slot items are now item level 880. Players that are lower level than current expansion content (lower than Level 98) receive Heart-Shaped Carton, which doesn't contain the Big Love Rocket

    Lovely Charm Collection
To start collecting Lovely Charms, players must purchase a Lovely Charm Collector's Kit from Kwee Q. Peddlefeet. With it in their inventory, players will be rewarded with Lovely Charms whenever they fight enemies which would grant XP or Honor.

    The Event Boss: Apothecary Hummel
You can queue through the dungeon finder to kill Apothecary Hummel, who drops a Heart-Shaped Box or Heart-Shaped Carton (depending on your level) for the first kill of the day - this can contain:
5-10x Love Token Toxic Wasteling Forever-Lovely Rose Vile Fulminator’s Mask The Heartbreaker Big Love Rocket
Apothecary Hummel also drops a random neck piece from the following list:
Choker of the Pure Heart Heartbreak Charm Shard of Pirouetting Happiness Sweet Perfume Brooch Winking Eye of Love
Upon killing Apothecary Hummel for the first time you will also be awarded a Faded Lovely Greeting Card, which will begin the quest Something is in the Air (and it Ain’t Love).

In Orgrimmar and Stormwind you will find the Love is in the Air areas, where a Junior Detective will be waiting for you with the introduction quest Uncommon Scents. Completion will unlock a quest chain which includes:
Something Stinks Pilfering Perfume Snivel’s Sweetheart Hot on The Trail A Friendly Chat...

Changes to Recruit-A-Friend - Now Live
Originally Posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums) In Patch 7.3.5, we made significant changes to the level 1–100 experience to ensure players can better enjoy the stories, quest lines, and zones they want to at their own pace. Dynamic Leveling in Patch 7.3.5
As you may have heard, Patch 7.3.5 significantly overhauled the level-up experience in World of Warcraft so that zones from 1–100 will dynamically scale to your character’s level. Why? Over the years, we’ve made multiple changes to adjust the leveling curve—and as a result, the pace of characters’ progress has become significantly out of sync with the content. Players often out-level areas long before they’ve had a chance to complete key stories and quest lines, leading to a less-than-ideal experience.

With this significant update to pacing, the existing Recruit-A-Friend program would no longer provide the best experience for players new to World of Warcraft. Even with scaling zones, triple-speed leveling would mean new players going into dungeons could find themselves overwhelmed by multiple new abilities gained over the course of a single instance run, and might still outpace storylines that help the world make sense and make players feel like they’re part of it—and we want new players to feel at home in Azeroth.

To align the Recruit-A-Friend XP bonus with the upcoming leveling changes, we have reduced the XP boost gained from the Recruit-A-Friend program when playing with a linked friend down from 200% (300% XP vs. base XP) to 50%* (150% XP vs. base XP). We are making these changes to ensure the XP boost doesn’t upset game balance and undermine the experience, while still giving a significant XP bonus to you and a friend as a thank-you for being part of the Recruit-A-Friend program.

Recruit-A-Friend Changes in Full The XP boost has been reduced from 200% bonus to 50% bonus*, effective today, January 22, 2018. If you’re already actively participating in the program, fear not! If you either sent or received an invite before the change went into effect today, once the invite is accepted you and your friend will still receive triple XP* (200% XP bonus) until the link between your accounts expires (90 days from the date the new recruit’s account was first created). Please note: RAF invites expire after seven days. Heirloom gear XP bonuses will no longer stack with the RAF boost (i.e., the maximum XP boost you will see from today onwards is 50%). If you were already on the program, Heirloom gear will still stack. All other rewards are unchanged and yours to enjoy: Summon your friend once every 30 minutes. 10% bonus reputation from kills that grant reputation.* Level granting: for every two levels your friend gains while the accounts are linked, they can grant one level to one of your characters. Recruiter rewards, including game time and epic mounts.
*For a full list of the rewards and the in-game criteria for receiving them, visit our RAF In-Game Bonuses page.
The Call of the Scarab holiday event remembers the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj world event from Vanilla. This event is an Alliance vs Horde showdown, with the victorious faction flying their faction banner for the next year.

This year you will need to talk to Zidormi in Silithus to see the old version if you have killed Argus and can see the Wound in the World.

The Call of the Scarab quest will send you to Silithus so that you know where the vendor and world quests are. From there you can complete quests and defeat bosses to earn Commendations for your faction. Whichever faction has the most Commendations at the end of the event wins.

    Cultist Camps
There are Twilight Cultist camps scattered around the zone. You will need to kill NPCs in the camp to acquire all three Cultist pieces: Twilight Cultist Cowl, Twilight Cultist Mantle, Twilight Cultist Robe Once you have applied all three pieces of the disguise, you can use a Lesser Wind stone to summon a NPC that you can solo. These drop Abyssal Crest and remove one of your armor buffs when summoned. Abyssal Crest are dropped by the Lesser Wind Stone bosses at the Cultist Camps. The Twilight Cultist Medallion of Station can be used at a Wind Stone to summon a boss that might need a group. The Twilight Cultist Ring of Lordship can be used at a Greater Wind Stone to summon a stronger boss that will need a group.
    World Quests
There are several world quests associated with this event, all rewarding Commendations that contribute to your faction's total.

On January 23, 2006, a bloody war was triggered by a simple sound: the banging of a gong. No rallying fanfare, no bloodthirsty yell; just an eerie silence. Those long, uneasy seconds of dread. The calm before the storm.

Standing shoulder-to-shoulder before the Scarab Wall, no one could have predicted what would happen—an epic ten-hour battle that claimed the lives of thousands of Azeroth’s bravest—or fully comprehended the effect it would have.

    Action First, Faction Second
That’s not to say the battle at the gates of Ahn’Qiraj came as a surprise. When the menace of C’Thun turned into an urgent threat, leaders across the world pored over plans and forged unlikely connections as pressure mounted. Both factions knew war was coming and personal glory was a hubris no-one could risk. Any notion that one army could defeat General Rajaxx and his colossal battalion was soon abandoned as fantasy.

It was a unique time: scattered armies with varying allegiances were thrown together and faction pride was put aside. Let’s be clear: the battle at Ahn’Qiraj was won purely on the principle “united we stand, divided we fall.”

    Warmongering vs. Gold Hungering
This uneasy alliance was not without its critics. Some showed their disapproval by shunning the war effort altogether, but others expressed opposition through acts of aggression. Rogue elements on both sides, unwilling to stomach this perceived betrayal of their faction, did not sit idle. Just as neutral auction houses became a tool for factions to share resources, they also became virtual battlegrounds. Crucial resources were picked up for next-to-nothing and sold on for personal gain. As with all wars, those who profit aren’t always the brave.

The sheer scale of that war effort is almost unimaginable when we live in a time of extended storage and fast mail. But back then, backpacks and cloth stacks were smaller. Getting precious resources gathered, sorted, and sent took many hours. And it took several weeks to source bandages, food, and equipment—resources that were in high demand and would soon dwindle.

    The Importance of Remembrance
There are parallels with current events that are impossible to ignore: once more, we Azerothians stand united against the Burning Legion as they wreak havoc across the Broken Isles. We attempt to put aside a complex, bitter history in order to defeat a common enemy. We eye each other suspiciously, even as we fight side by side.

We would do well, in these dark times, to remember the courage and spirit of those who were there at the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj. We must have long memories if we’re to make quick work of the demon forces we now face.

From January 21–23 we ask that you join us as we remember the fallen and celebrate the victory. All of Azeroth are invited to a special holiday, ‘Call of the Scarab,’ where we will gather to perform acts of remembrance and share our factions’ pride.

    * Updated- 9/5: New areas, quests and Invasion Points are now available.
Week 2: Finish the story of Krokuun and travel to the ruined draenei city of Mac’Aree. Gain access to Invasion Points and thwart the Burning Legion’s plans on other worlds. Additional World Quests in Mac’Aree are available along with access to Invasion Points.
As the fel-scarred planet Argus looms in the skies overhead, Azeroth’s greatest heroes prepare a desperate mission into the heart of the Burning Legion’s stronghold. Succeed, and Azeroth may at last know peace; fail, and all worlds will burn. The battle against the forces of the Legion has all come down to this.
Thousands of years ago, the eredar of Argus lived in tranquility. The eredar’s three strong leaders —Archimonde, Kil’jaeden, and Velen—ruled their people in harmony. But the achievements of the eredar gained the attention of the the fallen titan, Sargeras.
When most of the populace turned to darkness under Sargeras’ control, becoming demons, Velen—gifted with the power of prophecy—guided his followers off the planet with the help of the naaru. They fled Argus, taking the name draenei, meaning “exiled ones.” Argus was devoured by the Burning Legion soon after.

The journey to Argus begins within the Exodar. Velen is gathering allies to join him on a journey most perilous aboard a new ship known as the Vindicaar. Once on Argus, adventurers progress through a series of story chapters in three new regions. Each week, new elements of the story on Argus become available, telling the tale of what was, what is, and what could be.

To help you prepare for your expedition to this hostile world, we’ve provided an itinerary for your time ahead:
Week 1: Begin the invasion of Argus and embark on an epic storyline beginning in Krokuun. Team up with the Army of the Light and take the fight to the very heart of the Legion in the Antoran Wastes. Gain access to new World Quests and Emissaries on Argus.
Week 2: Finish the story of Krokuun and travel to the ruined draenei city of Mac’Aree. Gain access to Invasion Points and thwart the Burning Legion’s plans on other worlds. Additional World Quests in Mac’Aree are available along with access to Invasion Points.
Week 3:  Finish the Shadows of Argus storyline, unlock all World Quests, and venture into the new dungeon, the Seat of the Triumvirate. Activate your Netherlight Crucible on the Vindicaar to begin forging Relics.
Your journey from Azeroth begins with the quest The Hand of Fate.  Azeroth’s heroes are asked to travel to the Exodar and meet with Velen and his gathering allies—many of whom are familiar faces. It’s all hands on deck for the arduous task ahead.

After you join up with Velen and the rest of the invasion party, it’s time to embark aboard the new draenei vessel — the Vindicaar. It serves as the base of operations for your time on Argus and is outfitted with a variety of conveniences that become accessible over time, including an innkeeper, mailbox, profession trainers, portal to Dalaran, repairs, quest givers, vendors, the Vindicaar Matrix Core, Navigation Console, and Netherlight Crucible.
    - Netherlight Crucible
The Netherlight Crucible is a forge that will help you enhance the relics on your Artifact weapon. As you progress through the storyline on Argus, you’ll unlock the forge’s abilities and the additional power of your Artifact weapon through your chosen relics.
    - Navigation Console
The Navigation Console aboard the Vindicaar connects to beacons on the surface of Argus.  These beacons will help you quickly travel from point to point throughout Argus and back to the Vindicaar when needed.
    - The Matrix Core
Several Vindicaar powers unlock within the Matrix Core at the heart of the ship as you progress through Argus. These powers can be used to aid you along the way.
Light’s Judgment: This allows you to target and fire Light’s Judgment, the Vindicaar’s main weapon, while on Argus.
Lightforged Warframe: This allows use of the Lightforged Warframe mechanized armor suit while on Argus.
Shroud of Arcane Echoes: This allows the use of the Shroud of Arcane Echoes’ power, making you untargetable by enemies for a limited time while on Argus.
Fel Heart: The Fel Heart of Argus allows you, when on Argus, to be brought back to life after taking fatal damage and continually heal while not in combat.
    Thaumaturge Vashreen (Ethereal Vendor)
Veiled Argunite can be earned in a variety of ways including killing rare elite mobs. Much like Nethershards on the Broken Shore, this currency can be used to purchase Relinquished items from Thaumaturge Vashreen that create ilvl 910 soulbound gear for your specialization.
    Profession Trainers
Not all Profession trainers can be found on the Vindicaar, but with a new world to exploit explore, there are new opportunities for new crafted items. Azeroth’s finest will need the best equipment to take on the challenges ahead— and opportunity awaits for their crafters.

Like the Broken Shore, the demonic forces of the Burning Legion aren’t going to roll out the red carpet for you. To get a foothold on the surface of Argus, you’ll need to make sure the Vindicaar is protected from the Legion’s defenses. While the devastation to this once shining world is widespread, there are bright spots among the new —and perhaps old—allies along the way. There are two new factions to encounter along the way: the Army of the Light and Argussian Reach.
    - The Army of the Light: The Army of the Light has been at war with the Legion on Argus for centuries, engaging in tactical guerilla strikes using their warship, the Xenedar. While outnumbered, they aren’t down—and they’re certainly not out. They continue to fight with cunning, striking at points of opportunity quickly and moving on.
    - Argussian Reach: Although many struggled to oppose the Burning Legion's conquest of Argus, not all were able to escape. Emboldened by the arrival of new allies, these refugees and outcasts stand united in their mission to reclaim their home.

Lightforged Beacons are similar to flight paths and are discovered as you progress through the storylines within Krokuun, Antaron Wastes, and Mac’Aree. These beacons transport you quickly back to the Vindicaar or out to any additional beacons you’ve discovered throughout the three regions.
As with the Broken Isles and Broken Shore, World Quests become available throughout the various regions as you venture through Argus. They offer a variety of rewards and a new Emissary Quests that align with the new factions Army of the Light and Argussian Reach.
There’s plenty to learn about both past and present Argus as you progress through the regions and experience the stories of those who have been impacted by the Burning Legion. For some, it will be a tale of redemption; for others, it is a tale of deepest loss. In the end, it’s a story that the future of Azeroth depends on.
